Fixing/Contesting a Rating
Tapped the wrong star? Or received a rating you believe is unfair? Here’s how both sides work.
I gave the wrong rating
You can edit any rating you’ve given for 72 hours after you first submit it:
- Go to Dashboard → Ratings Given.
- Find the rating and click Edit.
- Set the stars you meant and save.
Re-saving doesn’t restart the clock — the 72 hours count from your first submission. After the window closes, the Edit button is replaced with a lock (“Editing closed”) and the rating stands as given. So if you hit the wrong star, fix it sooner rather than later.
I want to contest a rating I received
A few honest things to know first:
- Ratings are anonymous — you can see your scores and distribution, but not who gave which rating.
- There’s no self-serve dispute button. One middling rating in a healthy history barely moves your average, and the giver may still correct it themselves inside their 72-hour window.
That said, our Terms of Service prohibit rating abuse — retaliatory ratings, fabricated ratings not based on a real shared event, coordinated inflation or deflation, and using ratings to harass or extort. If you believe a rating crosses that line:
- Go to the Support page (
/support) and use the contact form. - Include the train it relates to, what happened, and why you believe the rating was given in bad faith.
- The team reviews reports and can remove or adjust ratings, disable a user’s rating privileges, or suspend accounts where the policy was abused.
Keeping your average strong
- Ratings only come from completed trains you actually rode — show up, run your slot, raid on time, and the math takes care of itself.
- No-show slots can’t rate and can’t be rated, so a no-show never turns into a revenge rating.
- An average above 4.5 stars earns the High Rating badge on your profile.
Still stuck? Use the contact form on the support page.
